Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecommunication Equipment (MTCTE)

Telecommunication equipment used in the Indian telecom network must undergo mandatory testing and certification as per the parameters prescribed by the Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC). This regime ensures that equipment does not degrade network performance, is safe for end-users, protects against radio frequency emissions, and complies with national and international standards.

Effective from 2019, certification is being rolled out in phases.
